Glasgow Challenges Climate is a sustainable engineering interdisciplinary learning project for primary and secondary schools in Glasgow. Pupils work together to find solutions to issues across Glasgow that have been caused by climate change including; flooding, air pollution and sustainable housing.

Hackathon 2018

A hackathon is a sprint-like event in which a group of creative designers, engineers and technologists work together to collaborate on solving a problem in a short amount of time. Hacks can be a physical product, an app/webpage or a social  movement, it’s up to you. There are 25 problem cards to choose from all themed on accessibiliity, transport, technology and facilities. Hackathon 2018 focused on the European Championships.

Climate Week 2018 Activity Pack

Scotland is a world leader in climate change and as a nation we are well on the way in our transition towards a low carbon society. The activity pack has been collated in partnership with Glasgow City Council, Sustainable Glasgow, South Seeds and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Dippy the Dinosaur 3D Printing

Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s iconic Diplodocus dinosaur skeleton is coming to Glasgow!

As part of a road trip across the UK, Dippy is venturing out of London for the first time since 1905. He will visit Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from 22 January—6 May 2019.

Pupils should design and model their own dinosaur that should be made using your 3D Printer. Schools that complete this challenge will be invited to a celebration event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on 30th April 2019. Pupils will get to meet Dippy, get photographed with their model and take part in some of the Museum activities

Super Duper Science Fair 2020

This years Super Duper Science Fair will take place on Friday 27th March 2020 in Glasgow City Chambers. This is open to all GCC primary establishments from P1-P7. Up to 3 teams per school. Up to 5 pupils in each team. Teams can be made up of different year groups, however we ask that this is done so by level. If in a mixed group, P1’s can join 1st level.
